Stone+tec 2026 in Nuremberg: what we took away
Four days of natural stone, machinery and memorial work at NürnbergMesse. What we looked at, and why the fair matters for how we source blocks.
Stone+tec ran from 17 to 20 June 2026 at the NürnbergMesse exhibition grounds. We attended as visitors. It is the central meeting point for the natural stone trade in the German-speaking market and is held every two years.
What the fair covers
Stone+tec is organised into three areas which together follow the path from raw block to finished piece:
- Building with natural stone - materials, facades, floors, stairs
- Equipment for professionals - sawing technology, processing, tools, software
- Place of remembrance - memorial design and fabrication
Around 220 exhibitors from 24 countries presented across roughly 20,000 square metres of gross floor space. The audience is mainly stonemasonry businesses, stone processors, planners and architects. The German Natural Stone Prize was awarded on the evening of the first day.
Why we were there
Stone Get supplies raw blocks and cut-to-size material to European processors. For us Stone+tec is less a selling fair than a calibration exercise: it shows which formats, thicknesses and finishes workshops actually ask for, what sawing technology is in use, and what tolerances follow from it.
The memorial section is particularly relevant to us. Memorial blanks and semi-finished formats are part of our range, and requirements for dimensional accuracy, edge detail and surface quality are far easier to pin down in conversation with the workshops than through a written enquiry.
What was confirmed
Two things come up reliably at fairs like this. First, workshops want to know which specific block they are getting, not which type of stone. Photographs and measurements of the individual piece matter more than a sample catalogue. Second, the question of technical data almost always arrives, and it concerns the particular quarry batch rather than general material figures.
Both match how we work: we document every block before dispatch, and we obtain the test data for the relevant batch when the application calls for it.
Next edition
Stone+tec is biennial. The next edition is announced for 21 to 24 June 2028 in Nuremberg.
