Limestone

Limestone

Iranian limestone in beige tones, supplied as blocks and cut-to-size for facades, floors and paving.

Limestone is a sedimentary carbonate rock that has not been metamorphosed into marble. It is generally more even in appearance than marble, with a matte, quiet surface rather than a polished one, and it is chosen for exactly that restraint.

Our principal Iranian limestone is Ocean Beige, quarried in Lorestan and also traded as Gohara or Gohareh. It is widely used across Europe for ventilated facades, interior floors and paving.

Limestone varies considerably in density and porosity between quarries and even between beds in the same quarry. Where the material will be used outdoors or in a wet area, the technical data for the specific batch is what matters — general limestone figures are not a substitute. Supplied as raw blocks, slabs and cut-to-size.
