Natanz Black / Nero Natanz
Dark Iranian hard stone from the Natanz area, traded as Natanz Black and Nero Natanz.
Natanz Black is quarried near Natanz in Isfahan province and appears in international listings as Nero Natanz and Natanz Black Granite. It is a dark, dense stone used where a black surface has to withstand more wear than black marble can.
Typical applications are external paving and steps, heavily used interior floors, worktops and memorial work. It holds a polish well, and unlike black marble it is a realistic choice for exterior positions — though as always the frost and abrasion data for the specific batch is what decides that, not the stone type.
Be aware that "granite" here is a trade classification. Where you need a petrographic statement for a tender or a technical file, ask us for the certificate covering the actual quarry batch. Supplied as raw blocks, slabs and cut-to-size.
